Users

In Cryptlex, a user represents your end customer. Users can optionally be associated with one or more licenses, depending on your selected access and license management strategy.

Creating a user is not required for standard licensing workflows. However, it is mandatory when you want to provide access to the Customer Portal. When a user is linked to one or more licenses, they can independently view assigned licenses and related details, download published releases, view activations, perform deactivations, and complete offline activations. This self-service capability helps reduce the overall support workload.

For the named user licensing model, a user must exist and be mandatorily linked to the license.

Creating a user

Navigate to Customers → Users page in the admin portal and click Create.
Provide the required details, including First Name, Last Name, Email, Password, and Role.

Users can be created with one of the following roles: user (end user), organization-admin, or reseller-admin. An end user can also be directly associated with an organization or a reseller via the Organization or Reseller field, respectively, during user creation.

Linking a user to a license

Navigate to the Licenses page in the admin portal.
Click Create to create a new license or edit an existing license.
Open the Customer tab and link the desired user.

For advanced automation scenarios, user creation, linkage, and authentication can also be handled programmatically using the Cryptlex Web API.
