Resellers
Resellers let you bring your sales partners, distributors, and sales channels into Cryptlex so they can sell your software. Reseller admins log in to a dedicated reseller portal to manage their customers and licenses, where they can:
- Create, edit, and delete users and organizations.
- Assign and revoke their allotted licenses for those users and organizations.
- Renew licenses or update license expiration dates.
- Track activations across their customers.
- Perform offline activations and deactivations for their customers.
Their end users can also perform offline activations and deactivations from the customer portal.
Creating a reseller
- Go to the
Customers -> Resellerspage in the admin portal. - Click
Createand provide the reseller's details.
Creating a reseller admin
- Go to the
Customers -> Userspage in the admin portal and clickCreate. - In the Role field, select
reseller-admin. - In the Reseller field, select the reseller to link to this admin.
This user can then log in to the reseller portal to manage the reseller account.
Linking licenses to a reseller
Because resellers cannot create licenses themselves, you create the licenses upfront and allot them to a dedicated reseller.
- Go to the
Licensespage in the admin portal. - Click
Createto create a new license, or edit an existing license. You can also create licenses in bulk. - Open the
Customertab and link the reseller.
The reseller admin can then distribute the linked licenses to their own users and organizations from the reseller portal, but cannot generate new ones.
Renewing licenses from the reseller portal
Reseller admins can keep their customers' licenses active without going through you. From the reseller portal, they can:
- Renew a license, which adds the current subscription interval to the expiration date and starts another cycle.
- Update the expiration date of a license to extend, shorten, or correct when it expires.
Both actions work the same way as they do in the admin portal. For details on how renewals and expiration dates behave, see subscription licensing.
Configuring reseller permissions
Reseller permissions are configurable, so you decide exactly what reseller admins can do in the reseller portal. Go to the Settings -> Roles page in the admin portal and edit the reseller-admin role to define its permissions.
For example, you can let reseller admins create users and organizations but not delete them, or allow license renewals while blocking expiration date updates.
Managing your resellers
You can limit reseller activity using the Allowed Users and Allowed Organizations properties on the reseller, and track reseller activity using filters and the audit logs.
Customizing the reseller portal
You can change the reseller portal logo and set up a custom domain on the Settings -> Customizations page in the admin portal.
